Congratulations Darren!!!
Not only did I miss blogging for two months ... I missed things like, Memorial Day & Father's Day ... What do these two things have in common? Darren ran a 1/2 Marathon over the Memorial Day weekend (just under 2 hours) and over the Father's day weekend he ran his FIRST FULL marathon (4 hrs. 25 min. 8 sec.)!!! WOW!! Way to go!!
We wish we could have been there to cheer him on ... but, we were in the states... We did get to go to his 1/2 marathon, which was in Luxembourg. Shelby, Devin, and I went to see a movie (in English:), and then walked to the areana to see him run in-- lots of fun!
Darren got to run his marathon in Tromso, Norway ... the Midnight Marathon... how cool is that?
Despite excruciating pain in his shin (that knocked him off his feet for a week+ during his training!), Darren is determined to run another marathon ... (yes, I think he should have his head examined) ... so, come October, he and I will head to Dublin, Ireland for him to run and me to shop! (hope my shins hold up;)
I'm back ...
I was feeling pretty bad about not having posted anything since mid-May ...
Then I went and looked at all my friends blogs to see what they were up to ... I was glad to see that I am NOT the only one who gets caught up in life, and goes in spurts with their blog. I have one friend that had a post from March, followed by one from June (2 month lag), and another who went from December to June (6 month lag) ... so... I guess I'm not doing too bad.
I do feel bad that I missed blogging Shelby's birthday in May... It came so quickly! (probably due to a girl's trip to Milan, and the end of the school year crashing in on us!)
We went to Cascades (an indoor pool in Bitburg), and then came back for dinner and hanging out... (Shelby LOVES strawberries, and since we didn't really do a cake... she had strawberry belgian waffles for dinner)
Since Shelby's group of friends (McKayla Boden, Madelyn Cotton, Elaine Cotton, Caitlin Roth, & Nicole Boden) were all moving this summer... boo hoo .... I took a picture of each girl, and then they made address books with their pictures... Now they can all Face book and email to keep in contact ....
